Coffee Shop Assistant To deliver a high standard of customer service and assist with the smooth running of a successful coffee shop. Main duties include serving food and beverages, operating the checkout and participating in coffee shop and kitchen cleaning rota. Previous experience in the catering business, working as part of an effective team and dealing with the public is highly desirable as well as a genuine interest in this field of work. An up to date food hygiene certificate is required or be willing to undergo training if successful. Forms to be collected from Mid Ulster Garden Centre, 35a Station Road, Maghera or Magherafelt JBO, 31 Station Road, Magherafelt or download from www.midulster.co.uk. Forms to be returned to Mid Ulster Garden Centre by 06/10/10 at 12 Noon. Hours of work will be 9am/9.30am - 5.30pm 4 days per week plus one alternating weekend day i.e Saturday one week and Sunday afternoon the following week.
What we look for?
We look for staff that have good levels of gardening interest and knowledge, however that is not always enough. As we are a retail business, we also place a lot of emphasis on experience, commercial sense and the ability to deliver excellent customer service. As you will be working with the public, it is important that you are comfortable talking and listening to people on a daily basis.
Working at Mid Ulster can also be hard work and you should not be afraid of getting your hands dirty now and again! Overall, the single most important factor is the right aptitude which is the ‘raw ingredient’ that will enable the successful candidate to become a long term member of staff through good training.
