WOOD CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Wooden furniture should be cleaned occasionally with soapy water. It can be treated with specially formulated care products to give a beautiful rich finish and enhance the look of the wood. Charles Taylor 10 Year Gaurantee

We guarantee our products for a period of 10 years from the date of delivery against "rot", provided that the product is treated twice annually with Taylor Brown Wood Preservative. Rot is defined as the decomposition and breakdown of the wood, caused by fungus, feeding on wet, unprotected timber. Under his warranty, we are unable to replace products that have not been treated, or have been treated with an alternative paint, stain or preservative.
The guarantee applies to all Charles Taylor manufactured products delivered on, or after, 1st March 2019. Proof of purchase and use of Taylor Brown preservative is required to make a valid claim.
The guarantee does not cover change in colour or appearance due to natural weathering.
The guarantee does not apply to items that have been modified or altered.
The guarantee does not cover small splits and cracks that occur naturally as the timber ages which are of no detriment to the product.
The guarantee does not apply to defective fixtures and fittings.
Defects, as used in the warranty, are defined as imperfections in the craftsmanship or materials used and need to be reported within 14 days of delivery. Defects reported within the stated time period will be repaired, or the defective item replaced, subject to the terms and conditions.
The guarantee does not cover wear and tear from normal, domestic, and commercial use.
The guarantee does not cover parasols and bases.
The guarantee does not cover our furniture covers , we have sourced our fitted cover range to offer good value for money. It is really difficult to offer a warranty due to extreme weather conditions so please check your cover on delivery.
The guarantee is only valid for the original owner and the original delivery address, as stated on the purchase receipt.

We keep a large stock on display but not every piece. If you're travelling a distance and wish to see a particular set, please get in touch beforehand as our stock moves quickly especially in-season.

How often should I clean my wooden garden furniture?

It is recommended to clean your wooden garden furniture at least three or four times a year. It is especially important to give it a thorough cleaning after winter and at least once during the summer.

What is the best way to clean dirt and grime from wooden garden furniture?

To remove dirt and grime from your wooden garden furniture, start by using a stiff brush to scrub the surface. Follow this by lightly sanding the furniture to remove any remaining dirt and splinters. After sanding, rinse off the furniture to remove any dust.

Can I use a pressure washer to clean my wooden garden furniture?

No, it is not recommended to use a pressure washer to clean wooden garden furniture. The strong pressure from the washer can damage the wood’s structure and fibers.

What products should I use to clean my wooden garden furniture?

You can use a mixture of warm, soapy water with a soft cloth to clean your wooden garden furniture. Avoid using strong chemicals that can damage the wood. Alternatively, you can use a mixture of warm water, white vinegar, and bicarbonate of soda for cleaning stubborn stains.

How can I protect my wooden garden furniture after cleaning?

This depends on the type of wood. Roble and teak can be treated with Alexander Rose's colour based colour guard. Other hardwoods such as Acacia can be treated with oil based treatment such as Alexander Rose's treatment and sealer. Please keep in mind that hardwoods will develop a silver-grey patina over time if left untreated. Some consider that not treating gives a more beautiful and natural look whilst others prefer a 'showroom' look. Please do ask if you have any questions.

All of our furniture is designed for straightforward self-assembly. We do offer an assembly service for BT postcodes and the Dublin area. This service also includes the removal and disposal of packaging. Please get in touch if you'd like a quotation.
